Garmin Expands Feature Update to Forerunner 570, Forerunner 970, Venu 4, vívoactive 6, and Edge Computers

Garmin officially announced expanded software and feature updates on September 22, bringing key capabilities to a wider range of smartwatches and Edge cycling computers.

What's New

• Fall detection: Now available on Venu 4 — if a hard fall is detected, the watch sends a message with your live location to preset emergency contacts. Works all day or during selected activities
• "OK Garmin" voice control: Hands-free activation lets you start timers, begin activities, and invoke your phone's voice assistant without touching the screen
• Suggested quick workouts: Runners get workout suggestions based on chosen time and intensity
• Indoor XC Ski: New activity profile for indoor cross-country skiing
• Improved flashlight shortcut and reduced false touchscreen unlocks

How to Update

Open the Garmin Connect app, navigate to your device, and check for available updates. You can also update directly on your watch via Settings → System → Software Update.
